Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors: Groups for Parents
Stop Playing Behavior Whack-a-Mole and Start Understanding What’s Really Going On
If you're exhausted by your child’s baffling behavior—and feeling like nothing is working—you’re not alone. The Raising Kids with Big, Baffling Behaviors Parent Course will help you finally understand what’s underneath those hard moments and respond in ways that truly work.
This 12-module, neuroscience-informed course is based on the best-selling book by Robyn Gobbel, MSW, and is facilitated by Erin Bennetts, LCSW, RPT-S, who studied directly with Robyn for over a year. This isn’t about learning more strategies you’ll struggle to implement. This course helps you see behavior differently so you can parent differently—with confidence, calm, and connection.
3 Core Tenets that inform this parenting course
Behavior is a clue. It’s what we see on the outside—but it points to something deeper going on inside.
Connection is essential. If your child’s behavior makes connection feel impossible, it’s time to ask, “What’s really going on?”
Regulated, connected kids who feel safe behave better. We’ll show you how to increase regulation, connection, and felt safety—so behavior starts to shift from the inside out.
This Course Is Especially Helpful For Parents Of:
Children with trauma histories, including foster care or adoption
Kids who are neurodivergent, gifted, or have sensory processing differences
Children with neuroimmune disorders
Kids whose nervous systems just feel more vulnerable—even if you’re not sure why
Not sure why your child’s behavior feels so big, baffling, and overwhelming? You don’t have to have a diagnosis or a clear “why” for this course to be right for you.
Is This Parenting Course Right for You?
This course is a great fit if you are…
Ready to stop playing behavior whack-a-mole and start understanding what’s really going on
Longing to see and connect with your child’s true self—even when they don’t show it
Open to doing some internal work so you can show up differently for your child
Looking for practical, compassionate strategies that work for complex kids
This course may not be a fit if you are…
Focused solely on finding the “right” behavior intervention to fix your child
Committed to traditional, consequence-based parenting approaches
Not ready to explore the deeper roots of baffling behaviors
Parenting a child with consistently dangerous behaviors (e.g., severe violence, chronic substance abuse, or sexual acting out). You deserve specialized support—this course (alone) won’t meet your needs right now.
Course Overview
3 Sections, 12 Modules
Section 1: Become the Expert in Your Child’s Behavior (What Behavior Really is/isn’t)
Change how you see the behavior—and everything changes.
In this section, you’ll discover what behavior really is (and isn’t). You’ll learn how to decode the messages behind your child’s most baffling actions using relational neuroscience, attachment theory, and nervous system science.
Section 2: Tools That Actually Work (Let’s “fix” those behaviors)
Finally, a parenting toolbox built by and for your family
You’ll learn a wide range of brain-based, sensory, and co-regulation strategies to strengthen your child’s nervous system and reduce big behaviors. By the end, you’ll know what tools to use and when—without relying on consequences or rewards.
Section 3: Why Knowing Isn’t Enough (Move from knowing/doing to BEING)
Because parenting isn’t just about tools
You’ll learn what gets in the way of using the tools you’ve learned. This section helps build your capacity to stay regulated in the heat of the moment, so you can parent with intention, even when it’s hard.
